Update on Midlife Remarriage Stories - Managing the Ex Spouse

Hi Again Divas:

I've received six interesting midlife remarriage stories from writers thus far--great stories, amazing stories, and most of them with happy endings.

Today, I'm interested in hearing how remarried women have managed relationships with former spouses--your's and your husband's.

My Ex and I had a great relationship until his unexpected death (he was only 51 when he passed away).

In hindsight, and for the benefit of my kids, I'm glad to be able to say he and I forgave each other about a year after our divorce. We lived in the same neighborhood, and celebrated holidays, birthdays, graduations, and other special events in our kids' lives together. We both remarried, and our new spouses and their extended families were often included in our get-togethers.

However...I hear other stories, especially having to do with what the literature calls "toxic" exes. These relationships have negative impact on second marriages.

So, anyone with a story to share on this topic (good relationships, difficult ones), please send along. Please be sure to let me know whether it is okay to use your story in my book!

Thanks, Catherine
