Totallly forgot about back to school and doing this. I like your verse for the day "Teach me O Lord and I will walk in your ways..."

How about Psalm 91:10 with the start of school and the Swine Flu making headlines "Nor will any plague come near your dwelling."

The GWT version translates it "No harm will come to you. No sickness will come near your house."

Well...my verse for Elli is Ps. 86:11. Anyone else?

Marilyn, reminds me of pulling together the memories of all the school days when our children graduated. I thought, "now, why didn't I keep a scrapbook all through school?" So, I did it backwards and putting all of the momento's in a book for each of our children.

We have two school age grandchildren and in an effort to help them learn to love to write rather than hating it I started writing stories with them built on just everyday events. Then, at the end of the school year they have a complete story about the entire year. I found this to be good practice for myself also as I had been away from writing for so long.

I always enjoyed playing school as a child so now I play school with them. I found a book for grades 1-2 called "The Traits of Good Writing" that has lots of great ideas to help them get a story going along with teaching structure.

As I watch our little ones I'm amazed at all they teach us. The scripture that comes to mind for me is "and a child shall lead them."

Love your idea. I'll try to keep up with the challenge presented.

Well....the first of my grandchldren begins kindergarten at the end of this month. That is hard for me to believe! I am planning to find a theme Bible verse to pray for her throughout the year. Actually my plan is to find one for every year for her. Just imagine what graduation might look like! So my challenge to all the Grandma Divas is to do the same. Pray about it. We do you think about sharing verses at the end of August?( I am not sure what mine is at the moment ).Enjoy the rest of the summer. Still sunny and summer here in NC:)

This is scary stuff. Especially with our grandchildren who are in day cares and schools. Luckily, Braxton isn't in day care, but I'm sure we carry in all sorts of germs. So far, no swine flu outbreaks in Kentucky. I'm sure it is just a matter of time as neighboring states have been dealing with cases of the swine flu.

You all be safe and healthy.

I bet she is real disappointed. Fort Worth schools closed for two weeks. No confirmed cases that I've heard of.

That's cute Darlene "Now he's a preacher who wrestles with how to "coach" a congregation!"

Best wishes for Breigh, Kathy.

Good luck.
My grandson was here tonight. He's only 12, almost 13 months. I love to hear him jabber and try to talk. He walks all over the place, stumbles a lot and loves to pick weeds and dandilions out of the yard. He is so precious!

Enjoy Galveston. It's funny how kids pick what they want to be when they grow up. My son always said he was going to be a wrestler, a preacher and a coach. Now he's a preacher who wrestles with how to "coach" a congregation!
