Welcome to Praying Divas!

I know many of us have personal concerns. Some of these concerns are temporary while others are on going. I wanted to offer a place where site members could request prayer for personal matters and offer prayer and support to one another.

A few guidelines:

*Prayers are to be for matters affecting your personal (or professional) life.
*This is a public site. Avoid sharing anything that might be embarrassing.
*You may ask for general prayer if you are unwilling or unable to give details. If possible, let us know what area of your life requires prayer so we may direct our prayers accordingly; e.g. family, children, husband, work, etc.

Should anyone need more specific prayer for a personal matter they do not wish to share with the group, I am always available for you. Simply send a message to my inbox on this site. Give me as many details as you feel comfortable sharing. Mr Diva and I pray throughout the day, including the women who contact me in our prayers. We would be honored to add your requests or concerns to our prayers.

I believe in the power of women praying for one another. I look forward to joining other Divas in prayer.

Jean Ann Duckworth, M.Div.

Here is something I have been using for months now and it really seems to be working for me...Wanted to share with each of you!

P.A.C.E

It’s a wonderful way for you to start your day with the Lord, and I hope you will try and make it a part of your daily time with him. Here are the four steps to P-A-C-E:

“P” is for Praise:

Begin by praising God and thanking him. Know that he is God! Praise him for his goodness and for his love. Thank him for meeting your needs.

“A” is for Acceptance:

Just hold your hands open before the Lord and say, “Lord, I accept what the Scripture says about me.” He is your father, you are his child, and he loves you.

“C” is for Control:

Now just turn your hands over as if to bow gently before God, saying, “Lord, I give you control of my life.” Release every care to him.

“E” is for Expectancy:

Now look with expectancy to God. Let him buoy your confidence and your trust and your strength in him. Tell him that you trust him with your life.

P-A-C-E yourself each morning and you will be blessed with the wonderful joy of God’s presence!

LET GOD SET THE PACE OF YOUR DAY.

Barb, I will be praying....Sorry I have not been around but I have had major health issues myself and trying to help our Pastor and family has kept me really busy.....Well today "Heaven has a new rose" our Katie went home Monday at 1:30pm after an almost 10 year battle with an inoperable tumor that was on her brain stem....She had been with Hospice care for about the last 6months.....
Her viewing will be today at 6:00 and then service tomorrow at 3:00.....I have been asked to read something I wrote moments after she passed and so pray for strength that I will get through it....Today is gray/cloudy not at all like the rays of sunshine our Katie deserves but I know she is surrounded by God's Glory in heaven. She leaves behind two boys 11 & 13 who are amazing of faith and seem content that their mom is "dancing with Jesus" as Chase the 11 year old says. When told about his mom passing the 13 year old said "Good for her! she finally made it....Such wisdom for those so young.....Anyhow I am including the poem as my tribute to Katie and all she meant to my life.....

OUR YELLOW ROSE

Her smile like morning sunshine,
Her laugh pure like an angels song.
Her spirit truly divine,
Able to help others be strong.

Here on earth she is loved by us all,
At heavens gate the Angels do now rejoice.
Our tears flow like many leaves in fall,
In Heaven "The Yellow Rose" sings sweet of voice!

Yes the garden of the Master now has a new bloom,
Her spirit can truly be at rest.
Though we now grieve for a season, truly we are blessed,
To have known and loved God's very best.

Look for Katie in the morning sun,
Or in the gentle springtime rains.
Her life has now only just begun,
For with our Father she now reigns

Couple of prayer requests. One, I'm scheduled for surgery on Nov 3rd. Pray all goes well and recovery is quick.

Pray for direction for our lives. We're both looking at returning to school and new employment in 2010.

Requesting prayers for Celebration member Melinda Meadows. She was ill and given medicine by her doctor. The short version is, she has developed hepatitis as a reaction to the different medication. She is going to the specialist today and has asked for prayers.

Mr Diva says things happen when the Divas pray!

Thanks!

Kathy - Just putting the girls to bed. We'll say a prayer for her. Ten years ago this month my brother fell. The doctors gave him a zero chance of living. Broken ribs, collapsed lungs and I forget all of what else. That was ten years ago and he's still alive and well. Check Joel Osteen's website for his Mom's list of healing scripture verses she prayed when she was ill years ago. Faith goes where the eyes cannot see. Ok, I'd better get these little ones to bed. We'll be praying. Keep us posted.

Well Diva's this came from a friend of mine from church and I emailed her right back promising to PRAY ASAP and send this on to some lovely Prayer Diva's that I knew would get on it and give heaven a shakin! This little angel needs all we have please spare a moment to pray and then PASS IT FORWARD if you can...Thanks, Kathy

Hi Everybody,
I've attached a bulletin that we have hanging in our office about a precious little girl who needs all the prayers she can get. Were having a benefit for her tomorrow to help raise money for her
and her family. Alexia's Daddy works on a ship and is gone 30 days at a time, and he has to continue to work like this due to his insurance is all they have.

The beginning sign's of Alexia's cancer is she was having frequent headaches, Dr's thought it was the pollen in the air or she had sinus problems! Finally... her Dr ordered a brain scan just as a precaution and it was here that the cancer was discovered. The Dr. handed the Mother a DVD disc and told her to take the disc and go home and pack and get her Daughter to Texas Children's Hospital as soon as possible.

Alexia underwent brain surgery towards the end of May, they removed the tumor but said this type cancer is really rare and no cure! She since has undergone Chemo and Radiation and has lost her pretty long blonde hair. Alexia's Aunt even went and had her hair cutoff the same time just to make Alexia feel better.

So far the effect's of the Chemo and Radiation on Alexia are not to bad except for loosing her hair, she is still in good spirits and just always ask... why mommy??

This is really sad, and it breaks my heart as I hear the Grandmother Sharon (she sits right across from me) talk to Alexia every day and Sharon struggles to try to be strong for her Granddaughter.
The long survival rate for this cancer is less than only 20% so please, help this family with prayer, we all know God's prayer is strong, and we all have to ask for prayer sometime or another, so while were praying please thank God for everything that he has done and pulled us through, we all know its in his hands.

Thanks,
Cindy Underwood

Next step is I need to mail the sympathy cards in the morning. I hated to send them with just a signature, no note or anything. So, waited for the end of the work week to see if there were a story he wanted me to write up and send with the cards.

Well I take no credit for the prayers or results but am very proud God used me as the vessel....I am glad your feeling better and I know hubby is back on track and all will be well. When you go home you will find everyone will be thinking of only the good an there will be tons of happy memory's of your loved one to share....I am glad he left the world so loved and I am sure he was received at heavens gates in the same way!

I continue to pray during this healing season!

Hugs, Kathy
