It is. I managed to stay alive at work for one more month. September 17th will be the end of it. It will be a bittersweet moment. Much as I know there is something else waiting for me, it's kind of frightening not knowing. Our friend back home sold his cows. After milking for 34 years Friday will be his last day. Say a prayer for the farmers.

I wish the girls today would be more into dresses. I struggle with even getting our granddaughters to wear a dress to church on Sunday mornings. Dress 'em while we can, but sure doesn't take long for them to outgrow the dress stage.

Thanks for sharing your story, Barb.

I am actually thankful for my humble background: it has taught me many ways to be frugal and save money.

We too grew up poor. My clothes were either hand me downs from my cousin or remakes from my older sister's clothes. That worked well. She was almost 10 years older so she had the full circle skirts. I was tiny and petite so I wore a lot of pencil skirts and vests. I started sewing my own clothes when I was about 2nd or 3rd grade. I'll never forget Mom telling me as she left the room we were sewing in to start supper "now when you get to the sleeves I'll come help you." Well, I went ahead and put them in. That ended her sewing and my beginning. Two times that I remember I purchased sheets to sew our girls dresses. One time was the sheets were a similiar print to some really expensive dresses I had found. So, I did a remake. The other time the sheets had a wide bunny border. I was able to sew that border around the bottom of their dresses using the rest of the sheet for the dress. It was a delight parading them through the bedding department hearing the sales clerks remark about their dresses. Oh, how I wish I had time to sew again.

You are so fortunate to have a daughter that hates to shop. My sister has a friend that hates to shop. My sister loves to shop. So, when she's out she finds things for her friend, buys them and returns what her friend doesn't like. (Her friend pays her for what she keeps.) I wish my sister lives closer. I need some new clothes and I hate to shop anymore. For one, I don't have time. For two my body is going through the youth of old age changes and nothing looks good on me. So, be happy she hates to shop. More money in your wallet.

All things work together for good Shauanna. I expect there to be a positive outcome to all of this. You may not see that instantly, but someday you'll understand why your family is having this experience. Will keep you in our prayers.

Prayerfully the charges will be dropped. Glad to hear he's caught up on his homework.

That's good that he's not on the principals radar. Glad to hear they're getting his homework together for him. You might share this quote with your son "Education is when you read the fine print. Experience is what you get if you don't".- Pete Seeger. Will keep him in our prayers.

Good! At least the school part is worked out. I'll be praying for a good outcome in regards to the disorderly conduct charges. Don't worry too much. Pray! That's our best defense here.
