Hi April,
As all adoption stories are, ours is long and complicated. My husband is an only child, we had 2 children already and decided to foster children in our home as a means of satisfying my need for more children and allowing Justin to decide if more children would be ok with him. After several difficult years, we had a 6 week old placed in our home and fell in love with him. His rights were terminated and we ddecided to adopt him. I am not sure it was ever really a decision, just a feeling that it was what God wanted us to do. After that we gave birth to baby Eli. Now our family is complete, I am confident of that. Chrtistopher (our adopted child) filled a large needed void in my heart. I know God gave us that yearning and consequently allowed our disagreement to open the door for Christopher's placement in our home. How precious adoption is! I am working on a parenting book for adoptive parents with a friend of mine, Sandra Sanford. Pray for us as it is in the hand of 2 publishers for consideration.
I grew up in Benton, PA, population 1500, and couldn't wait to leave as soon as I swung the tassel on my graduation cap. And so I did. Traveled to Italy on a mission trip, lived and worked in the Cayman Islands, and tried to meet as many people who were from anywhere but home. Small town girl, needing to spread her wings. Funny where our wings choose to land! Smack dab back in my tiny hometown. But a place big enough to keep that boy “who lives up the road” interested in local living..and in your's truly. God's ways surely aren't our preconceived ideas.

I couldn't have picked a better ending to our story. Married now for 16 years with two daughters from China. (Yep, it's a good thing I had a taste for travel. ) In fact, our story, just like yours, is still being written. During our whole marriage God's kept us working together in ARS Enterprises, our computer business. Allen programs and I do the “whatevers”. Sometimes I'm disguised as an As Needed Computer Consultant, other times secretary. Many times I've learned to listen while Allen vents about the ups and downs of this business and I spend even more time learning to rely on the Lord for His provisions in this crazy world.
Through it all I write. So far I've been published by such places as Today's Christian Woman, The Gem, Evangel, The Secret Place, Pathways to God and Home Life. I'm currently working on that fiction novel that's been rolling around my heart for years.
My Diva Devotional Book, Adoptive Moms, Devotions to Go comes out later this year.

So... If you want a place where you don't have to pretend you have it all together, where you can be encouraged by a Christ follower with flaws--well then welcome to my “cyber” home.
