I get emotional just thinking about it for you. Thankful you have so many treasured moments with your boys. Today I intentionally made a craft with my baby boy Caleb & even took a nap with him! Too good!

So many "woo hoos" and "boo hoos" go with being a mom, especially when it's time for them to leave the nest. I'm not there yet with my sons, but I can see it on the horizon. I'll send up prayers for God to hold you close on Saturday at 10 am and b...

Today I'm in my other office--Panera--writing the section on the empty nest for Moms of Sons. During the last two weeks, a robin has laid four shiny blue eggs, the babies hatched, sprouted wings, and soon will be kicked out of the nest by mama ro...

Glad your son liked your care package, Connie. Who knows, maybe his reaction and words will find their way into your DTG book. :o) Enjoy your time at his graduation!

Connie. Thank you so much for the summer beach kit. It was a welcome sight today since we woke up to snow. Take care and thanks again.

You're kidding, Whitworth?!? Washington Sate is a great school. My son is graduating from Grove City in May and has already been hired by a marketing firm in Cleveland, Ohio. He starts three weeks after graduation. His college sweetheart doesn't graduate until next year, but I "hear" that December 2009 could bring something else under the tree and then a June 2010 wedding. I hope, I hope! My oldest son was engaged once when he was 21 and three months before the wedding, they broke it off--that was seven years ago! It was his childhood, Jr. high, high school and college sweetheart. And she just got married this summer. So it's been a difficult journey!

Hi Connie. I wanted my son to go to Whitworth College but he chose Washington State instead. It has actually been a great experience and he will graduate in May and get married in June. I'm glad to meet you via Diva Celebration. I am also a mom of two sons. Take care. Gigi

I think it's more like doing a national caliber split. Hi Anita, thanks for coming by...gotta love all that pink is right...my jammies and under armour are even pink!

JA: Yep, I'm tickled pink is right! It just happened to be my favorite color! Pink and black...love those two girlfriend colors!

Anite: Nope, my trailer isn't uploaded yet. It's not scheduled until April. Since it's a speaker/author trailer, I'm waiting for a big event in Nebraska for Cancer Survivors and their Caregivers. I'm hoping to get some good video from that. I love the work that Misty does (amazing!).

Thanks Jean Ann...I'm so excited about all this PINK! As a mom of sons, you have no idea how tickled this makes me.

You did a great job of putting this together; it looks like a party to me!

The Empty Nest

Well, we did it! We sucessfully moved Jon to Cleveland, Ohio to start his new job at Brulant and we're official empty nesters.
In one day, we drove to Cleveland, Ohio (six hours), set up Jon's apartment, and drove back (six hours). Jon and I drove in a separate car and Mark and ou… Continue

Moms and Chocolate Chip Cookies/Cake!

While I'm working on the book, Moms of Sons Devotions to Go, I'm sorting through pictures of my "boys" and have to wonder where the time went. Jon (our youngest) is graduating from college next week and I still haven't sent him "homemade" chocolate chip cookies yet!

I guess there's still time right?

For all of you moms out there who are procrastinating, don't wait for the "perfect" time to do what you've always wanted to do...just do it!

So at 11:45 p.m., I'm making chocolate chip cook… Continue

A Cardinal in the Snow

One day maybe I'll share the story of the "Cardinal in the Snow," but not tonight.

In memory of Kathy's dad, I leave this thought: "We are never alone when we're surrounded by those we love."

Peace, dear friend!
