I met my hubby at Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington (35 years ago!). We lived there for five years and have many friends in Spokane and in the Bellingham area. We loved it there...
As far as advice for the "mother of the groom," I think I might need to talk with you about that one! :)

My husband and I were stationed at Whidbey Island and I really loved the scenery there. The weather... well, I could do without all that rain, and I missed "real" seasons (like here in Michigan) LOL! But I met some wonderful people there and grew in a close relationship with Jesus while I lived there too. I'd love to go back someday and visit my church family and other friends who are still there.

I worked for some time with children with special needs. I tell you, I believe this is one of the most challenging things we could be faced with, don't you? I cannot imagine how difficult this would be if it were my own child. I commend you for your determination to share that with others. I am also in the process of writing a book called "Sugar and Spice and Everything in Between." I have been pitching to editors but just began and have had neither rejection or acceptance. I figure (even though I check my email like 50 times a day) that it will happen when it happens and to give the power to whom it truly belongs to. Good luck to you on your journey for publication. I share your pain! :o)
